Freedom of Peaceful Assembly
The right to assemble peacefully rests at the core of any functioning democratic system. This section contains a collection of major universal and regional treaties and non-treaty standards, international case-law and OSCE commitments related to this fundamental human right. Here you will also find examples of EU law, as well as national legislation and case-law on the exercise of the right to freedom of peaceful assembly.
This section also offers other useful resources for lawmakers and legal professionals, including ODIHR’s legal opinions on national legislation and other publications, such as the Guidelines on Freedom of Peaceful Assembly.
