A new "Riigikogu" election Act was passed on 12 June 2002 and came into force on 18 July 2002 (translation now available). Likewise, the Local Government Council Election Act 1996 was repealed last March as the Parliament adopted a new bill, which came into force on 6 May 2002 (translation in English not yet available). A new Referendum Act was passed on 13 March 2002 and came into force on 6 April 2002 (see below). Of relevance is also the Constitutional Review Court Procedure Act adopted on 13 March 2002 and entered into force on 1 July 2002, which Chapter 6 pertains to "Actions and Protests against the Decisions and Measures of an Electoral Committee".
