The Military Criminal Code retains the death penalty for certain military crimes committed during wartime (Article 6(2) of Law 2287/95). A draft law on ratification of Protocol No. 13 to the ECHR, which Greece signed in May 2002, is expected to be submitted to the parliament shortly.
