Article 279. Blocking of thoroughfares, and seizure of transport facilities

1. Blocking of thoroughfares by obstructing the traffic, or cutting off electricity, or by any other means, leading to disruption of regular operations of transport, or posing threat to human life, or leading to other grave consequences, -

is punishable by a fine of up to 50 tax-free minimal incomes, or by correctional labour for up to two years, or by arrest for up to six months, or by imprisonment for a up to three years.

2. Seizure of a railway station, airfield, port, station or any other transport facility, enterprise or organisation, -

is punishable by imprisonment for any term exceeding two but not exceeding five years.

3. In case when offence referred to in the para 1 or 2 of this Article result in death or lead to other grave consequences, -

shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to twelve years.

Article 294. Riots

1. Organisation of riots concomitant with personal violence, looting, arson, destruction of property, seizure of buildings or facilities, forceful eviction of citizens, resistance to authorities with the use of arms or any other items used as weapons, as well as active participation in riots,

shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.

2. In case of this offence leading in to death of people or other grave consequences, -

shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years.
