Article 17- Prohibition of Violence

Any form of violence either in private or public life based on gender is prohibited. The competent authorities will undertake the corresponding steps in order to eliminate and to prevent the violence based on gender either in public or private domain, as well as to provide the instruments for protection, assistance and compensation for victims of violence.

The competent authorities will also undertake the steps for prevention of violence based on gender, especially in domain of education in order to eliminate prejudice, custom, and all other practices based on the idea of inferiority or superiority of any gender, as well as on traditional roles of men and women. That includes, but is not limited, to the education and building awareness of civil servants, public life, etc.
