Expert Meeting on OSCE ODIHR Guidelines on Legislation Pertaining to Political Parties, Munich

On 9 and 10 September the OSCE ODIHR organized an Expert Meeting in Munich, Germany, to discuss and finalize the text of the OSCE ODIHR Guidelines on Legislation Pertaining to Political Parties. The meeting brought together seven members of the OSCE ODIHR Core Group of Experts on Political Parties, as well as several other experts who worked together to revise, edit and make final changes to the text of the Guidelines.

This expert meeting has largely concluded the extensive consultative process on the drafting of the said Guidelines, a process which included the holding of two expert meetings as well as three thematic roundtables on issues such as women’s political participation; public funding of political parties and abuse of state resources; and participation of political parties in elections and the prohibition and dissolution of political parties.
